The Batman will be headed into general release this week and it is very clear a lot of people's high expectations have been met. Matt Reeves provides a unique take on Gotham City, story and characters with a more gritty, dark, detective-noir 3 hour Fincher-esque thriller. This is a sigh of relief for Warner Bros who have been under intense scrutiny for many years due to their handling of DC films.

X film March 2022

X (2022) | United States

The first horror picture on this list goes to X. It's set in the twilight year of the 1970s when a group of young filmmakers go to rural Texas with the intention of filming a porn movie at a property owned by an elderly couple. However when their hosts catch them in the act, the cast and crew of this porno find themselves fighting for their lives.

Wolf March 2022

Wolf (2021) | Ireland, United Kingdom, Poland

Feline Films, Lava Films

18th March 2022

From a grounded horror to an arthouse drama about a man who thinks he's a wolf living in a human's body. Fortunately it's not a meta film documenting the life of Taylor Lautner's Jacob Black throughout his time in Twilight. Though it is about a boy named Jacob. He eats, sleeps and lives like a wolf - much to the shock of his family. When he's sent to a clinic, Jacob and his animal-bound peers are forced to undergo increasingly extreme forms of curative therapies. However, once he meets the mysterious Wildcat, their friendship blossoms into an undeniable infatuation, and Jacob must decide whether to renounce his true self for love. Wolf was released at film festivals in Canada and France in 2021, and had a limited release in the USA also in 2021, its first real release to the wider audience comes in 2022. In Poland, Russia, UK and Ireland. Poland's release date was a month before on the 28th of February, and Russia will receive it on the 10th. The remaining two will have the 18th March release date.

Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven and Marc's enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities whilst getting thrust into a deadly mystery involving the powerful Gods of Egypt.

Morbius March 2022

Morbius (2022) | United States

Columbia Pictures, Marvel Entertainment

31st March 2022

The next Marvel-related outing for Sony since Venom 2 goes by the title Morbius. The same Morbius that has been stuck in development hell for many years. Finally, they have made it, finished it, trailer-ed it and will be releasing it on the last day of the month. I include it on the list out of respect for the story they are attempting to tell, however my expectations are low as they are with any Marvel-related content that isn't made by Marvel Studios, until I am proved wrong by my own taste once I watch the individual pictures. I notice people's disappointment after watching the trailer. I haven't watched the trailer and I don't think I will. I don't usually watch trailers anyway.
